EVEN CHARLES MANSON IS HUMAN

Here lays the answer to a woman's comment on my FaceBook version of this blog where  she states,
"He should die in prison were he belongs he talked other ppl into doing what he wanted to do to them himself"
I answered  ......
"But they made the choice.
If you read the transcripts from the trials he never once said to kill them, he asked for 'Helter Skelter' and forty years in solitary confinement is a long time.
Especially when some of the actual murderers got out long ago.
In today's justice system he would have got life but not forty years.
Why allow the actual killers freedom or to do their sentence in 'General Population'  and keep him for so long in solitare?
Hell the ass who waited in my mothers home for 3 days before brutally killing her only served fourteen months out of a five year sentence.
Plus Manson's  only to be out to die.
He was nowhere's near the crime scenes. Never once said to kill anyone and Sharon Tate was not the target.
Tex Watson and Bobby Beausoleil committed the murders.
Tex Watson also murdered "Lotsapoppa" Crowe AGAINST Manson's orders.
Manson was insane, this even more complicated by the constant use of LSD - the  most hallucigentic drug ever.
Manson's childhood was a nightmare growing up with a prostitute mother and often tortured.
I am in no way justifying any of their actions.
What I was and am stating is that in today's justice system he would have probably received life, but in a asylum for the criminally insane.
The trial was the equivalent of the O.J.Simpson trial because of Sharon Tate's notoriety.
For example, if a Scout Leader tells a group of Boy Scouts to go rob a cabin and they decide to go on a murder spree, should  the Scout Leader receive a more severe sentence than the Scout's who did the killing?
Bear in mind this was during 1968 - 69 at the height of the psychedelic hippie drug culture whereas North America was full of so-called 'cults' (including L.Ron Hubbard and his Church of Scientology).
Again, not to justify any of their crimes.
It comes right down to the legal definitions of  'insanity' or the legal definitions of 'drug induced schizophrenia'.
Add to that the present day Court's definition of 'Cruel and Unusual Punishment' and, as stated, he would not have been driven further insane and tortured by almost forty years of solitary confinement.
That was/is ALL I was stating.
Believe me, I spent thirteen months in the "hole" in Dorchester Super Maximum and it was torture.
Today's law forbids such practices.
Today's laws allow murderers and pedophiles to get far less time than Manson received."
My previous blog was not about 'Oh poor Charlie' or that he did not deserve to do forty years. The majority of which was in solitary - 'The Hole'.
A prime example of the hole is Paul Newman's portrayal of Luke in the classic film "COOL HAND LUKE".
Here are some general Manson Family facts.
July 1969
Gary Hinman is killed by Manson follower Bobby Beausoleil, accompanied by Manson Family members Mary Brunner and Susan Atkins.
August 8-9, 1969
Manson commands a small group of his most ardent followers to commit 'Helter Skelter' at the Polanski home.
The group brutally murder five people at the home of director Roman Polanski.
The victims are Polanski's pregnant wife, actress Sharon Tate, writer Wojciech Frykowski, coffee heiress Abigail Folger and celebrity hair stylist Jay Sebring and Steven Parent, (a friend of the family's gardener).
The murders are committed by followers Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, and Patricia Krenwinkel. Linda Kasabian accompanies them as a lookout.
August 9-10, 1969

Manson accompanies a group of followers on a search for victims.

Watson, Atkins, Krenwinkel, Kasabian, Leslie van Houten and "Clem" Grogan are all in the group.

They randomly find the house of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.

The couple are brutally murdered by Watson, Atkins, Krenwinkel and Van Houten.

This is one of the only times Charles is physically present.

October 1969

Manson and his followers are arrested at Barker Ranch, on suspicion of auto theft.

November 6, 1969

Manson Family member Susan Atkins, in jail awaiting trial for the murder of Gary Hinman, confesses to an inmate 'Virginia Castro' that she killed Sharon Tate.

Stating, "Because we wanted to do a crime that would shock the world, that the world would have to stand up and take notice."(Quoted from trial transcripts)

November 12, 1969

Los Angeles Sheriff's interview biker Al Springer. (Manson and he were acquainted.)

Springer tells them that Manson told him about his 'Family' killing people.

November 16, 1969

Los Angeles Police interview a cellmate of Susan Atkins, 'Ronnie Howard'.

Susan Atkins had told her about the Tate/LaBianca murders.

November 18, 1969

Vincent T. Bugliosi, Deputy District Attorney, is assigned the case. Later he will author the book"HELTER SKELTER".

November 30, 1969

Watson, is arrested in Texas.

For nine months lawyers fight his extradition to California and lose.

December 8, 1969

Indictments are issued for Manson, Watson, Atkins, Krenwinkel and Kasabian for the murders of Tate and her friends.

A grand jury also indicts the five, plus Van Houten for the LaBianca murders.

June 16, 1970

Charles Manson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten trials begin.

Manson appears in court with the 'famous' "X" carved into his forehead.

With attorney Irving Kanarek assistance Charles defends himself in court .

August 1970

Linda Kasabian is given immunity in exchange for her testimony against the remainder of the Manson Family.

January 15, 1971

Jury deliberations begin after the seven-month trial.

January 25 all the defendants are found guilty .

March 29, 1971

Manson, Krenwinkel, Atkins and Van Houten receive the Death Penalty.

1971

Charles "Tex" Watson is found guilty of the murders of seven people and is sentenced to death.

(However in 1972 California abolished the death penalty. The Manson Family members sentences are commuted to life in prison with Parole.)

Family member "Clem" Grogan, was originally given the Death Penalty.

However, the sentence was later reduced to 'Life with Parole' after the Judge concluded he was,  and I quote, "too stupid and too hopped up on drugs to decide anything on his own".

In 1985 he was granted parole after agreeing to show the powers that be where murder victim, 'Shorty' Shea's body was buried.

He was the only Family member involved with  murder to receive a parole.

Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme served thirty four years for attempting to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975 and escape in 1987. She was released in 2009 at the age of sixty.

MARY 'Pooh Bear' Brunner was convicted in 1971 for Armed Robbery and the subsequent gun fight with police and also a botched plan to break out her fellow Mansion Family members, including Charles.

She served almost seven years being released in 1977.

The majority of the rest, although aged, are still incarcerated.

So there you have a slight look at a crazed bunch of "Acid  Heads" (LSD users), who, led by a schizophrenic drug damaged but yet 'CHARISMATIC' man, left us all scarred by the morbidity of humans.

NOW  ....... TO ONCE AGAIN CLARIFY WHAT MY PREVIOUS BLOG WAS CONVEYING...........

I,  PERSONALLY, BELIEVE THAT CHARLES MANSON, WHO WAS DIAGNOSED AS A CHILD WITH SEVERE MENTAL ILLNESS, SHOULD NOT HAVE SPENT FORTY YEARS IN A STATE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY WHERE DUE TO THE SAID ILLNESS WAS NECESSARILY PLACED IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT FOR MOST OF THE TIME,  THUS CONTRIBUTING TO FURTHERING THE INSANITY.

HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCARCERATED TO A SECURE STATE MENTAL HOSPITAL WHERE HE COULD AT THE VERY LEAST LIVED A SOMEWHAT MORE "HUMAN" LIFE AND NOT SUFFERED UNDUE AND INHUMANE TREATMENT.

So sayeth the LightHouse Dann Verner on this very day of July 18th, 2017.

Court still prohibits marijuana possession

Court still prohibits marijuana possession Shannon Kari, National Post Published: Thursday, December 11, 2008 The prohibition against simple possession of marijuana has been upheld by an Ontario Superior Court judge, in a closely watched case that stemmed from the prosecution of Clifford Long, who was arrested by Toronto police with $40 worth of cannabis. Justice Eva Frank overturned a decision by a lower court judge last year that found there was no valid restriction against possession of cannabis because of flaws with the country's medical marijuana regulations. The lower court decision led to confusion about prosecuting simple possession cases in Ontario, said the federal government in its arguments before Judge Frank earlier this year. The federal Crown argued that the present policies of Health Canada have resulted in enough marijuana for the nearly 2,000 people with medical certificates to possess the drug. Judge Frank agreed with the arguments made by federal government lawy

Demons Of Guilt

Menu The LightHouse Dann Verner Some say my that my life has been a tragic sad tale. Only from their view point. Having lived through my life I can say it has been a damn good ride. I fear not dying for to die is final. To be waiting for that one final jolt of pain is extremely difficult to deal with. DEMONS OF GUILT This is a reflection of the pain I am going through as I finish my son’s biography. Delaney Jordan McLean Verner, 29 years old. Jordan “Bubba” Verner On Christmas morning 2019, hung himself in a town called Black Diamond . An obscure town in the underbelly of Alberta, Canada. He and his wife of 12 years, Katelyn had gone their to start a new life. Hoping to escape the homelessness rut and street life they were “Groundhog Day “  living on the streets of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A dream that collapsed and left them stranded, freezing and hungry. Only to have Alberta Social Services rudely tell him and his wife to “Go home”. By any way they could. But, a big “but”….. Adding

My Opinion Regarding the Israeli/Hamas War

Listen to this episode on Spotify or wherever you stream podcasts. How can it be all right for one side of a war ( Israel)  to bomb innocent civilians, but not okay for the other side ( Hamas)  to do so? Common sense would tell you that the majority of the people living in the Gaza strip are not supporters of the barbarism of the Hamas. They would much rather be living peaceful lives. Not living under the reign of fear from the Hamas. Largest part of the Gaza strip problem is that if the Hamas were to allow the innocent to leave, where could they go? Israel? Egypt? The majority of the Palestinian people are in the same boat as the average citizen of Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria. They are labeled and condemned by the actions of their governing leaders. The terrorist government controls every and all aspects of their everyday lives. You can not believe that all Palestinian citizens want to go to war. Their hands are tied and their voices are silenced by their leaders If they were to spea
