I Told You That This Would Happen

 

“What’s that I see in the sky?”

“Is it an ‘antivaxxer’ about to cry?”

I told you this would happen.

You sit there now. No longer laughing.

You wanted your ten minutes of fame, so a government conspiracy you did blame.

You jumped upon that Covid bus. Not believing in the doctors trust.

Now you and your child sweet, have contracted ‘Measles’ from your head to your feet.

To gain more followers on your social media stream you caused the return of a disease seldom seen.

You smiled and laughed saying we all were ‘sheep’, believing our doctors facts were weak.

Look at you now with your tears flowing. Your child’s eyes no longer glowing.

All those trucks in your blockade are not here to administer your childs much needed aid.

You put all your countrymen in danger. Choosing to trust false facts of a total stranger.

Those of us who received vaccinations contributed to a healthier nation.

Our greatest concern for the coming year is what other past disease lurks near.

It bothers me now to say, “I told you so”.

Even when back then you had told me where to ‘go’.
