My next battle via my blogs I am going to bring awareness to the NECESSITY of all diabetics across Canada and their plight of trying to pay for very expensive test strips. I am positive that if a study were to be done it would show that supplying the strips would be far less cheaper than the cost of hospitalization and emergency treatment of those not financially able to pay for them. They are as important as a pace maker or any life saving device. It isn’t like a bandage – it is a life and death necessity. My elderly neighbour has been in the hospital for three days now because she ran out of strips and didn’t have enough to buy more. I wish she would have told me because we all would have chipped in to buy her some. She is not doing too well. I believe only Ontario did partially pay for them. I can only imagine how many diabetics suffer horribly due to this. THEY SHOULD BE FREE FOR ALL DIABETICS IN ALL OF CANADA. If a study were done I truly...
