Premier Ford: Why Are You Always Protecting The Lawbreakers?
Premier Ford, once again you have chosen to protect the criminals and punish those who oppose you. Speed cameras work! Every ticket issued is because the vehicle has exceeded the posted speed limit, including the “threshold” allocated before the issuance of said ticket. Simply put, the operator of the vehicle has BROKEN THE LAW! You claim it is merely the municipalities committing a “cash grab”. I disagree. IT IS A FINE, A PUNISHMENT FOR EXCEEDING THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT. NOT TO MENTION THAT TWENTY-FOUR PERCENT OF THE GENERATED REVENUE GOES TO THE PROVINCE AND THE REMAINING SEVENTY-SIX PERCENT GOES TO THE OPERATION OF THE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT SYSTEMS! You neglect to mention that in the past three years vehicles assigned to the Ford government have been caught 23 times by automated speed cameras and 12 times by the vehicle’s internal system.
