On Aug 8 - Harper cut funds to programs that support cultural exports: the ProMart -Arts Promotion and the Trade Routes Program run by Dept of Can Heritage.
Overall, the Conference Board estimates that the cultural sector is valued at over $4 billion annually. Much of the revenue from our cultural production comes from offshore sales. This trend will continue as Canadian firms venture further into the global marketplace. Clearly, as the manufacturing sector declines, the cultural industries represent a good investment for the future and deserve public support – as much as any other industry.
And now.. as the US economy is in a tailspin, more than ever do we need to find trading partners in the new economy's of India and China ie. the world outside of America. Umm Harper... I think you missed a few days of grade 12.

  At times life is humorous. Other times not so much. When reminiscing about better times, it is the afternoon transforming the evening into night which unfolds into the mornings electric light   that awakens my inner alter ego.
