Book overview

Some label me as an author and others perceive me as a writer.

To me, an author is one who formulates a story created via a story line and storyboard.

A tale they have already written in their minds.

An author must rely upon their education, mastering of language, formatting and various other learned talents to convey their tale to the reader

Does this not sound like a time consuming and systematic generic task?

An author tells a systematically structured story.

Told in a generic format learned while being schooled.

Unlike an author, I do not blueprint my words.

I do not have a story-line.

I do not create a planned story.

Writing the content following a script is not how I wish to be. I want to convey to the reader the realness and the flaws that are within me.

I do not know where a story is heading beforehand.

Often I am quite unsure what the story is about.

My methodology is primal at best.

It is performed “on the fly“.

If something I see, hear or wonder about happens to come to mind at the right moment, then I will sit down at my computer and begin to “write“.

Simple as that.

I do not necessarily care if I sell a single book. I am not writing for fame or fortune. I write simply because I write.

I have learned throughout life that you must speak with confidence that what you are saying is from your heart.

It must be spoken truthful and without malice.

I “write” as I see.

I “write” as I believe.

I “write” what is truth to me.

I am a writer.

An author not for me to be.

This work is not like any of my previous publications.

It is a collection of short stories, roving ramblings, long thoughts, whimsical ideologies, serious banters, cryptic poetry and my opinionated opinions.

Each unique in their own ways.

Each a portrait of that moment in my time.

Subliminal messages may lay cloaked within serious insights of society as I perceive it to be.

My education was not obtained from the hallowed halls of a prestigious house of knowledge.

I attended the schools of life and the universities of the unseen society.

Received my Master’s Degree from government funded fortresses of incarceration.

My childhood rocking horse was a Harley Davidson.

My playground the surreal mazes of dark metropolitan alleys and laneways.

My mind a constant swirling vortex of questions asking questions regarding life’s unquestionable questions .

My cerebral cortex a digital storage vault of lessons learned, happiness gained, sadness drained and future hopes.

Each paragraph that follows is written in truth and with genuine emotion.

They are in no particular order.

Many will contain deep thoughts whereas others may simply be thoughts from a damaged mind.

Whatever they be let the following assure you of who is “me”.

Even if performed with emotion and passion, it will come across as a product of an author.

A transcript based on schooled rules and regulations.

That’s certainly not who I am.

I am definitely not what the majority would label as an “author“.

(Thankfully! For I am one hundred percent confident that I am an amateur author. Just saying.)

I identify as a “writer“.

A writer I be.
