Isn't It Ironic, Don't You Think?
Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?
Irony is a quizzical and odd human trait.
Most times it is present we don’t notice until after the fact.
We definitely encounter it often throughout our days. In fact it is a constant in our world.
Religion is a fine example of how well we have incorporated it within our daily rituals. Globally.
Take your average Baptist, Pentecostal or Roman Catholic. Come Sunday morning they gather up their families dressed in their “Sunday Go To Meeting” garb, load them into the car and off to church they go.
As the kiddies take their time getting ready Mom and Dad grow frustrated and utter phrases such as, “Will you damn kids hurry the Hell up!” or, depending on their patience quota, “Where the f*ck are you?“.
Arriving at the temple of worship and before they exit the car, they give them the “last warning”, “If you misbehave I will beat your arse when we get home!”.
The children and parents do their best to stay awake as the Preacher spits out the word of God.
Explaining the importance of teaching our children well.
Reading scripture topics of living in harmony and with grace. The importance of showing all living things compassion and care. Telling us to curb our enthusiasm for gluttony. Etcetera, etcetera …
Back in the car, travelling to home, the children begin to release their built up anxieties and frustrations bottled up from the ninety minutes of false behavior.
The expulsion of emotional energy causes young Johnnie to tease young Junie till tears run down her face.
Mommie turns her attention to their banter with the usual,
“Johnnie stop teasing your sister or I swear I will slap your face!”
Young Junie gets,
“Stop your f*.cking whining like a little baby!”
There is no discussion of the Minister’s sermon.
No sharing of the Gospel according to “John, Paul, George or Ringo”.
They have been shelved till the coming Sunday.
Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?
From Sunday evening till next Sunday morn there will be no discussion of religion.
There will be no lack of cursing or swearing throughout the following week.
Another prime example lays in our Courts.
Jimmy gets arrested for breaking the Law.
Does he stand before the Judge and take responsibility for the crimes he has been accused of committing?
You would think that he would, being a man of religious upbringing.
He doesn’t though.
Instead he places his hand upon the Holy Book, following the direction of his lawyer. Jimmy pleads …
“Not guilty, your Honour.”
Jimmy and his lawyers goal?
Hopefully to find a way to circumvent the truth and fool the Courts into finding them innocent of the offence they were accused of.
Even knowing that they may definitely cheat the system and get away with criminality.
Isn’t it hypocrisy by placing his hand upon the Holy Scripture and telling an outright lie?
“Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?”
Here is a prime example of being ironic to the max …
“Donald J Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’ “
It is suppose to be a group of nations to rebuild Gaza for the Palestinian people. However, there is not one Palestinian on the Board.
Trump is controlling all the funds in an account only he can access. Billions upon billions of other people’s money and ten billion he is simply taking from the States coffers without getting permission from Congress.
“The irony being9 labelled as the ‘Board of Peace’ “
Everyday Israel is bombing Gaza even though there is supposed to be a ceasefire in place.
Trump, the head of the Board, is supplying the very bombs being used. He actually gave Israel more bombs last week.
Now that is ironic,
“Don’t you think?”
Another fantastic example of irony,
“All these rich fortunate sons “owning” huge palatial mansions.”
In reality, the only portion of their palaces that they actually own is the ‘mortgage’.
“Isn’t THAT ironic, don’t you think?”
An amusing irony is …
“Society programming women into believing that they must spend two hours each morning putting on their make-up, wigs, false nails, false eyelashes, padded bras and in some cases, padded butts.”
Sadly, most end up looking like midnight riders on Prostitute Alley. Additionally, these same ladies were beautiful before they donned their man-bait costumes.
Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?
The greatest example of an irony …
“Mankind claiming we live in a ‘civilized’ society.”
Take a look around your street, your city or your nation ….
“Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?“
