Daily Prompt: " Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?" March 11, 2026
Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
Definitely a dog! No doubt at all!
I am Blessed with having a calming affect around all animals – dogs, cats, rabbits, coyotes, opossum – you name it I can calm and pat it.
My family and friends call me a “creature teacher” or an “animal whisperer“.
Perhaps it is because during my nomadic youth I often lived in the deep forest or worked on farms to make money to live.
In the forest I could approach most any animal I came across.
I have patted many white tailed deers, raccoons, rabbits and one very special time I spent a half hour with an Ocelot.
I didn’t get to touch her but we shared my lunch and had a talk.
Whether in the wild or in the confines of a farm, I very much enjoyed being amongst the various animals.
I have always had a dog and cat.
I has a Chihuahua named “Leo The Blunder Dog“.
I rescued Leo from a crack House when he was very young.
Leo bit me ten times a day, but rarely left my side. I never did figure out why he kept biting me. It didn’t matter.
Leo gifted me with nineteen years of sharing life with him.
I took his passing hard.
Leo’s death led to my adopting my two precious Chorkie, (Chihuahua Mom, Yorkie Dad), same litter sisters, Pringles and Ruffles. They are ten years old now.
Pringles and Ruffles guide me through my seven year and ongoing battle with this cancer.
We are three creatures sharing one spirituality.
We eat, drink and sleep together.
I talk to them constantly and they talk back to me with that love and caring that only animals have.
So, Campers, I compare myself with my “canines” because in my book they are “K-Tens”.
“Pringles on the left and Ruffles on the right.”
