Does the majestic butterfly remember being the catapiller?
A magical metamorphic transformation takes place within every cell of what was once a catapiller.
It’s transformation protected by the enameled shell of it’s Chrysalis.
It’s existence as the catapiller is erased from existence.
Or is it?
Cell by cell the caterpillar dissipates into a genetic metamorphic soup.
Powers beyond our understanding rearrange and rewrite every cell with the instructions of how to become the butterfly.
It was a catapiller.
What it is at this stage is known only to itself.
The process a marvel of nature.
A process we are incapable of comprehending.
One crawling worm-like creature enters a cocoon and a beautiful coloured flying piece of art emerges.
Marvel’s such as this stimulate my pnuerosynoptic pathways. Expanding my thought process into the darkest least used areas of my subconscious mind.
Those shadowy areas of the mind that are seldom used in everyday life. Compartments reserved for ‘deep thoughts‘ and serious investigations.
Questions such as:
“Does the catapiller know it’s being erased?”
“Is the metaphorical transformation painful?”
“Is there a point where the catapiller dies and the butterfly comes to life?”
“Or is the genetic metamorphic soup in itself a seperate life form or a form of the caterpillars life, or the butterfly’s birth?”
