  Our days come with many varieties of emotion. Emotions hurt when paired with the reality of the moment. Moments like today, this very evening, now …… In four days it will be six years since my son, my ‘Bubba’, ‘Jordan’ to most others, lost his battle with mental illness and drug addiction and   suicide stole his life. That same day suicide stole a part of my life. I am not sure if it would be proper to call such a day as an  ‘anniversary’. ‘ Anniversary ‘ is a term that is used to memorialize a ‘ special’  occassion. A pleasant memory. Such as  ‘Marriages, a child’s birth, graduation or personal birthday’ . What was the last thing you did for play or fun? Due to my health and mobility issues I rarely leave my home. That said, I find “fun” in my having intellectual, yet whimsical, interactions with none intellectual, non whimsical MAGA supporters. I enjoy watching as by simply conversing   and expressing my opinions causes their faces to change from a lighter shade of pale to a deep purplish red hue as their voices crackle with frustration due to their limited intellectual capability to understand someone who could care less what their defenseless defense may be.   This afternoon on the streetcar, coming home from seeing my neurologist, I experienced the most amazing moment. I hadn’t bothered to stream my music through my hearing aids like I nþormally do. After receiving the news about the mass in my head and the blockage of the stent, I simply wasn’t in a ‘music’ mood. That is, until the music found me. Passing   through Little Chinatown when this elderly, very elderly,   Oriental woman shuffled on board and had a seat next to me. We exchanged the ritual little smirk and slight nod of   acknowledgement   of each other’s existence. My attention returned back to staring out the window and watching   the   “Sheeple” people. Well Campers I saw my neurologist today regarding Mondays brain scans. Exactly  what I expected because I knew from my previous symptoms. The stent they put in last year is plugged. So, they are going to attempt to reopen it via an angioplasty. First they are going to increase my blood thinners to massive doses. Then they go in through my crotch with a catheter up to my brain and inflate a balloon to stretch the carotid artery. They made it very clear that this is my only option and if it doesn’t work there is no “Plan B”. Due to how deep in my brain they had to implant the stent last year, there’s not much they can do. Lately it is not uncommon to overhear people complaining, and rightfully so, about the decline in our healthcare. There is no rejecting the fact that our “healthcare systems” are in trouble. Notice   I state  “Healthcare Systems”  and not  “Healthcare” ? THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO ……….. “ Healthcare ” is the “ treatment  ” received from a Medical Professional. “ Healthcare Systems ” are the  “Logistical”   pathways used to correlate and plan that “ Healthcare”. There are multi problematic reasons accountable for the current state of our healthcare affairs. The primary and largest of the contributing factors is   “STAFFING”. Current staffing shortages and the logistical consequences that accompany them are responsible for the closure of “ Emergency   Rooms, Patient Wards, Clinics and Outpatient Care, etc”.
