Daily Prompt January 5, 2026

Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?

Awe, the evils of reminiscing of yesterday compared to the hopes of tomorrow.

Although I often speak of days of futures past, I do not dwell long upon events once experienced.

Those are moments subconsciously stored in the windmills of my mind.

Only to be resurrected when reminiscing of latter days necessitates purposed references to a specific point of moments now passed.

When the newness of the present day’s hope awaken the future fantasies of life’s expectations and desires, my mind dwells longingly upon hope.

Time far longer spent then the period spent reminiscing upon days long past.

Maturity has bedded down the memorial moments of past events. Now mere archives of flashbacks to younger days and ways.

Aging awakens lengthy fantasies of hopefullness.

Laying pathways of timeless daydreams of what may be wanted of moments yet lived.

Time spent wondering of what the future may bring is far lenthier than the brisk flash of time spent dwelling upon the past.
